A Look Back on The First Year of Feast Your Eyes

It has come around so quick, my first year of business as a brand designer and the end of my Year in Enterprise at Loughborough University. With many achievements and learnings to look back on, I wanted to write a post on the highlights of the past year but also what I have learnt along the way.

June 2020 - I raised money in aid of saving Chester Zoo with animal t-shirts I illustrated, printed, and sold.

September 2020 - My first branding client opened her store; I was able to see the designs at large scale throughout her store.

November 2020 - I started a project with Diageo, Runcorn designing a limited edition, commemorate bottling to celebrate 50 years of the Guinness packaging site.

January 2021 - The first episode of Alana Collett and I’s Instagram Live show, ‘Creative Lives’ was aired and my packaging design work for Mwai Ice Cream was featured in LCB Depot graphics exhibition.

February 2021 - As moderator of UK Hospitality Forum on Clubhouse, I discussed industry facing topics and shared branding tips with the group.

March 2021 - I started several client projects and set a personal record for revenue generated.

April 2021 - The Independent Eateries project began. I created a digital magazine, sharing the lesser-known wonders of the Liverpool and Manchester food and drink scene.

June 2021 - I was awarded the Year In Enterprise Award from Loughborough Enterprise Network for my success, hard work and dedication over the last year.

I regard my first year of business as a huge success, I have learnt so much about running a business, developing my skills and processes but also about myself and my resilience. I look forward to the future and thank everyone who has supported me along the way.
